This month, prevention from light emitted by device screens is the protagonist. Join the movement!

The American Optometric Association (AOA), which represents about 40,000 optometrists in the United States, has designated March as the high energy light and digital eye strain awareness month. Under the title of #NationalSaveYourVisionMonth, the AOA has begun a campaign to promote the importance of vision health through prevention from the risks of harmful light emitted by device screens.  Furthermore, the AOA chose this topic as its main focus for the year of 2017.

According to the American Eye-Q survey, 88% of Americans already know using screens can negatively affect their vision.  The majority of the survey shows respondents spend an average of seven hours per day using digital devices.  In the case of the millennials, this average rises to a minimum of nine hours of exposure.

Exposure to the high energy light emitted by electronic displays can cause not only damages to our vision, but also sleep disorders and eye strain, among other visual complications.  As part of the National Save Your Vision Month, the AOA recommends the use of protective filters to reduce the amount of harmful light emitted by screens.

At Reticare, we too join this essential awareness campaign.  We continuously work to protect people’s eyes based on our scientifically proven solutions to reduce the harmful high energy light. Reticare is the only eye protector for screens that filters out the exact range of light that can irreversibly damage your eyes.

This month we want to encourage you to join the movement in prioritizing eye health for yourself and for your loved ones.  Protect your eyes and help us raise awareness from the risks of device screens.  Spread the word and get everyone you know to protect themselves as well.
